QNX Nominated Finalistes for Telematics Awards

Today Telematics Update announced the thirty finalists for the Telematics Awards 2004 to be held during the Telematics Detroit Conference and Exhibition on May 25-26. QNX is nominated in the Best Technology category. After an overwhelming response in nominations for the second international Telematics Awards, the independent panel of judges had the difficult task of narrowing down each category to five finalists.

QNX4 Demo Disk: An Expounding Look

Long ago, before QNX6 was the "thing" and the non-commercial version of QNX had yet to exist, there was a floppy. Not just any floppy though. The renouned QNX4 Demo Disk, running QNX 4.25, is considered the most functional one-floppy OS ever released. Two versions were created, a network and a modem version, both allowing the user to access the Internet while running the floppy.

2004 ESC "Best of Show" finalists announced

Next week's Embedded Systems Conference (ESC) at San Francisco's Moscone Center will feature over 400 embedded technology exhibits, including 14 chosen as finalists for the Best of Show award by sponsor CMP Media. QNX Software Systems, one of 14, will exhibit InFocus's LiteShow, a "connect and project," zero-configuration wireless projection system. Booth 2542. The finalists were chosen from among 34 entries for their embodiment of innovative technology in end-user applications. Category winners and overall Best of Show will be announced at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 30 on the exhibit floor.

QNX 6 NTFS Driver v0.50 Released

Alexander Domo has released a new version of his ntfs driver. With this driver you are able to read your data from windows partitions, which are using the nt filesystem.
The new version now runs as a daemon, so you don't need to specify the "&" at startup. He has also fixed some bugs and added some features, but the write support is still very limited.
