Last week, at the Embedded Systems Conference in San Francisco, the state of Eclipse was reviewed at a roundtable discussion of four participants in the project. Sebastian Marineau, development manager for QNX Software Systems Ltd., a supplier of real-time operating systems for embedded devices, talked about how Eclipse would help embedded developers.
Robert Krten, the author of Getting Started with QNX Neutrino 2 and Getting Started with QNX 4 and the organizer of the Ottawa QNX Users Group just announced that the next OQUG meeting will be the final one.
nocmonkey.org just released the latest apache and php build for qnx6. The mirror can be found here. Apache/PHP users are urged to upgrade because of some recent security holes found and fixed in php 4.3.1. The binaries were built on qnx 6.2.0 but should work for other qnx6 versions too.
Both are small (180K) interpreter with a C-like syntax. C-Talk is _very_ esay to extent with C-code primitives. (see the myDelay example ... compiles to a shared object).
LUA is embeddable and very fast. ( ~ 5 times faster then Python ... )

A new third party CD and repository featuring open source and freeware applications and libraries has been released along with the release of QNX 6.2.1 NC.

Many are still using QNX 6.1.0 for some obvious reasons. Good news for those people. QSS has released patch B for QNX 6.1.0. The release note can be found here: http://commercial.qnx.com/instnote_610b.html and the actual patch is at http://commercial.qnx.com/repository/patchB/
QNX Software Systems has inked a development pact with Broadcom, under which the well-known embedded software player has ported its Neutrino RTOS to Broadcom's SiByte BCM1250 processor.
The new BSP will be available in June 2003 as part of QNX's Momentics Professional Edition, which is the development suite for the Neutrino OS.
