QNX Exhibits Future of In-Car Entertainment at Telematics Detroit 2005

TELEMATICS DETROIT 2005, May 16 - QNX Software Systems today announced that the company is exhibiting at Telematics Detroit 2005, where it will demonstrate innovative aftermarket and OEM in-car entertainment devices in Booth #34. QNX will offer a demonstration of the JVC infotainment system, a DVD receiver and monitor for in-car use, and the latest Delphi hard drive radio, which plays MP3s and wirelessly synchronizes with home music libraries. Both the JVC infotainment device and the Delphi hard drive radio are powered by the QNX® Neutrino® realtime operating system (RTOS) and will be on display throughout the Telematics Detroit 2005 Conference.The JVC and Delphi units are excellent examples of the innovative offerings for in-car entertainment today:

JVC DVD receiver/monitor - The latest infotainment device from JVC for the worldwide automotive aftermarket, this unit offers "dual zone" capability for front and back seat simultaneous operation, a detachable monitor, and a 5.1 channel audio system.

Delphi hard drive radio - Allows MP3 car audio playback from an in-dash unit that synchronizes with a home PC music library through a 802.11g wireless connection.
QNX will demonstrate how the JVC and Delphi products achieved their automotive-grade performance by taking advantage of the ultra-reliable QNX Neutrino operating system. With its fault-tolerant architecture and hard realtime capabilities, the QNX Neutrino RTOS offers a robust software foundation for complex infotainment applications.
