OTTAWA, February 22, 2005 - QNX Software Systems today announced support for the new Intel® Pentium® M processor 760 and the Mobile Intel 915GM Express chipset. As a result, designers of industrial control systems and embedded motherboards can now combine the realtime performance and advanced graphics of the QNX® Neutrino® RTOS with the high performance and low power of the Intel Pentium M processor and the integrated graphics capabilities of the Mobile Intel 915GM Express chipset. QNX will add support for this Intel solution to the QNX Momentics® development suite Professional Edition, a fully integrated environment that includes the QNX Neutrino RTOS; a graphical IDE; code development tools for C, C++, and embedded C++; driver development kits; and a suite of performance optimization tools for application profiling, system profiling, memory analysis, and code coverage.

"QNX realtime expertise has been important to the reliability and dependability of mission-critical control and automation systems," said Doug Davis, vice president, Digital Enterprise Group, general manager, Infrastructure Processor Division, Intel Corporation. "QNX's out-of-the-box support for the Intel Pentium M 760 processor and the Mobile Intel 915GM Express chipset enables designers of embedded solutions to accelerate the development, debug, and delivery of a new generation of graphics-rich, high-performance control systems."

"A robust operating system such as the QNX Neutrino RTOS can take advantage of Intel's powerful new, highly optimized silicon solution for the embedded market," said Dave Curley, vice president of marketing at QNX. "Together, QNX Software Systems and Intel help meet growing customer demand for flexible, graphical devices in industrial and general embedded applications."

In addition to a range of embedded Intel Architecture processors, QNX also supports processors based on Intel XScale® technology.
