QNX Software Systems today launched the QNX(R) Voyager(TM) 2 embedded Web browser, a modular, scalable and high-performance solution for Internet applications. QNX Voyager 2 is built upon ACCESS' NetFront Browser Engine technology, the same technology that powers the NetFront browser used in NTT DoCoMo's wildly successful i-mode(TM) service as well as the new Palm OS 5 Browser and the Blazer 3.0 browser available in the new HandSpring Treo 600 handheld. With NetFront technology at its core, QNX Voyager 2 includes several new features that meet the complex demands of today's embedded devices, including support for HTML 4.01 and XHTML 1.1, secure transaction handling through SSL
3.0 and unique rendering technologies for ultra-small displays. For devices
that require mobile browsing, QNX Voyager 2 also includes support for Internet
standards such as WAP 2.0 and WML 1.3. Through modular customization packages, customers can keep memory requirements to a minimum by installing only the components and protocols that they need.
