The QNX Cookbook - Recipes for Programmers
This is Rob's second book about QNX Neutrino and certainly his best book to date.

Adrian Mardare posted that an update to mozilla 1.5 had been added to the QNX 3rd party online repository. Packages for the Firebird browser 0.7 and the Thunderbird mail 0.4 have also been added. Mozilla now includes a spellchecker for MailNews and Composer.
Some changes, specific to the qnx/photon platform:
- the controls in the forms are drawn correctly now ( they used to have heavy ( 3 pixels ) borders )
- the alpha channel is somewhat working. There are problems when the alpha maps do not fit into the draw buffer ( large images ). This will be fortunatelly addressed in photon 6.3 that allows placing them in shared memory.
- the themes should now work correctly ( with the above amendment ).
- the sound files indicated in the preferences should now be played/previewed correctly.
- when installing these packages in top of mozilla 0.9.8 or 1.0, they should install ok.

Birdstep Technology is offering freely downloadable software development kits (SDKs) to promote its Raima Database Manager (RDM) embedded database technology which runs on a handfull of operating systems including QNX Neutrino.
rdesktop: A Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) Client for accessing Windows NT Terminal Server is now available for QNX 6. It allows QNX users to remotely run Microsoft Windows applications on the Windows Terminal Server from inside X Window (possibly Photon via XPhoton).

One of the changes with the 6.2.0 release of the NC (non-commerical) edition of QNX was the removal of the online repositories and not offering a separate Win32 based install download. However, all is not lost and this little page will take you through the steps required to install QNX NC without actually burning a CDROM.
QNX Software Systems today announced that it will integrate support for the Intel® IXDP2401, IXDP2801, and IXDP2851 advanced development platforms into the QNX® Neutrino® realtime operating system (RTOS). With these new development platforms being announced today at the Intel Developer Forum in San Jose, CA, Intel now offers manufacturers of IP, optical, and wireless networking equipment a standard, integrated development environment for its line of IXP2XXX network processors. QNX Software Systems currently supports the existing Intel® IXDP2400 and IXDP2800 development platforms.
