using Photon for just speech

Postby Scott Berry » Mon Oct 02, 2006 12:31 am

Hello there,

I have a question concerning just using Photon as a speech application.
I don't need any of the fancy fonts and graphics just need it too speak.
What would be the best way to do this?

I'm not quite sure what you are asking. Do you want to be able to get text to speech out of the text on any Photon application, or do you want to write an application that speaks using Photon?

If it is the former, it would be possible to build a drive that would see text going by, and either send it to a text to speech board, or process it directly with text to speech software.

If it is the latter, I don't see the point of building the application in Photon. I don't think it provides you with any tools of values over a text console.

You don't need Photon to output sound!
