Strange files in system builder

Post by Ken Schumm » Tue Oct 18, 2005 10:19 pm

Today when I started the Windows IDE up there were a bunch of strange
files listed in the Images tree of my System Builder Projects list on
the System Bulder perspective.

Names like s14o.1, s14o.2, s1ec.1, etc.

What are these? Do I care about them? Can I delete them?

I haven't seen them there before.

Version 6.3.0 SP1

TIA

Looks like some temp files aren't being cleaned up. Take a look at the
output of mkifs when you build your image and see if the filenames look
similar. ie. in the console you'll see something like:

a0025cb8 2e4 ---- --- proc/boot/.script=.\s39c.2

The s39c.2 is the tmpfile and can be safely deleted. It's supposed to
clean up after itself but there may be a bug in there, most likely
related to cygwin/windows paths.

cheers,

Kris
