long filename

osnews has an article today about qnx.
it seems newbies don't know qnxfs has long filename
support since 6.2.1. this brings up the question:
why would QSS decide to have the long filename support
feature off for a brand new 6.2.1 install?
the feature is not yet production ready?
testing the new users to see if he/she reads the release note?
my feeling is this is just a mistake, but maybe they have their
reasons...

I can't comment on having it off by default, but I thought I'd mention
(before anyone else does) that how to turn it on is described only in the
docs for dinit in 6.2. In 6.3, it's also described in the docs for
fs-qnx4.so and in the Neutrino User's Guide.

that's good enough for us, but for the newbies who are trying out qnx,
they probably will never have the need to use dinit (thanks to the
exellent QNX installation CD). let alone checking its docs :)
