Correct, current only 3dfx cards have acceleration (glide).
it will 'work' if you start it from the command line though.. but fps
would be like.. 0.5? :P

i`v put this idea before, but as yet its not been taken generally
onboard, or its merits (as a short term fix at least) discused
by capable 3rd partys, its simple, the glide API is open source, widely
available doc`s and easy to impliment (hence RTP having it included)
there exists several glide *wrappers* (of varying quality , admited
but non the less working) available for wintel Os`s.

it should?/would? be rather easy for several RTP 3rd partys here to
collectivly develop a Glide based wrapper to generic Photon 3D driver,
weather that could be a single generic SVGA HAL (Hardware Abstraction Layer)
based video driver (prefered option i`d think) or seperate wrappers/drivers
for the 4 or 5 most popular (and available retail today) 3d cards would
need to be worked out here or ddk.graphics for the best and/or quickest
options for the general RTP userbase.

i`v not been available (or for some time yet) to the net for some time
but ill try and pickup the inn.qnx news as i find time at weekends,
i`m assuming that the RTP SVGA source driver is on the .ddk.graphics
package and that you good 3rd partys might take my proposal of a
general Glide wrapper and perhaps use the SVGA source as a base
for any collaberation that might spring from this post.

i look forward to the feedback here for and against a (tempory?) general
Glide 3D HAL driver for all 3d hardware, see you next collection.

later friends.
