QNX 6.2.1 USB help

Post by lloyd » Thu Dec 04, 2003 5:15 pm

I would like to have both the USB keyboard and USB optic mouse to work
under QNX 6.2.1 NC version. Trying to run it from command line:
devu-mouse & OR devu-kbd & both gives this error: MOUSE/KEYBOARD
CLASS/INIT - No such file or directory

Surely in /dev there is no usbmouse OR usbkdb......

io-hid -dusb & says DLL error LIBRARY cannot be found

usb command -> unable to connect to USB - No such file or directory
hidview command -> HIDD v1.00, v.1.00 DDK
sloginfo -> long list, but inside I have found both the keyboard and mouse
to be running under PS2 connection.

I could not run QNX if I didn't have the PS2 keyboard and mouse connected
to it. Is this a conflict or a problem trying to resolve the USB keyboard
and mouse issues?

Please any insight on USB configuration will be great appreciated. Thank
you very much in advance.

Did you run devu-ohci or devu-uhci (depending on your usb controller)
first?

devu-ohci and devu-uhci both gives me No USB controller found: ERROR
Intializing Stack. How do you install the USB controller? Thank you for
your help.

I generally just run one, then the other, to see if either finds a USB
controller it recognises.

If neither recognises your USB controller, that suggests it isn't
supported.

I can't help you much further on this, but the likely next step is to
post the "pci -v" output and see if someone recognises your USB controller
and can give a solid supported/not-supported answer for it.
