QNX Celebrates More Than 100 Customers and Partners in Consumer Automotive

LAS VEGAS, Consumer Electronics Show, Jan. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Confirming its position as the premier supplier of realtime operating systems (RTOS) for in-car telematics and infotainment applications, QNX Software Systems today announced that it now has more than 100 partnerships with automotive Tier One and Tier Two suppliers, technology companies, and related design projects.
QNX software can be found today in infotainment, telematics, and navigation in-car computing devices from such names as Delphi, Hyundai, Johnson Controls, LG Electronics, Samsung, and Visteon. In the past two years alone, QNX has more than doubled its list of strategic partners, including middleware vendors, silicon vendors, service providers, customers, and other companies serving the global in-car computing market.

Powering the next-generation of in-car navigation devices and infotainment systems, communications platforms, and diagnostic terminals, the QNX® Neutrino® RTOS can be found in nearly two dozen automobiles from auto brands such as Acura, Audi, Chrysler, Daewoo, General Motors, Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz, and Saab.

All Media Guide (AMG) -- QNX partner AMG will demonstrate their LASSO embedded software, which is integrated into Windows Media Player and runs on a Freescale platform using the QNX Neutrino RTOS.

Delphi -- Long-time QNX customer Delphi will showcase a map-based navigation system with integrated voice recognition and music playback. This product runs on a Freescale MPC5200 platform powered by the QNX Neutrino RTOS.

Gracenote -- A key QNX partner and leader in global digital entertainment technology, Gracenote will demonstrate their new advanced digital radio system powered by QNX.

Johnson Controls -- JCI will be demonstrating their next-generation Bluetooth hands-free solutions based on the QNX Neutrino RTOS.

Panasonic -- Panasonic will showcase a QNX-powered reconfigurable head unit platform that supports voice commands for playlist control of portable audio devices such as the Apple iPod, USB thumb drives, and MP3 players.
